Plaited head band with feathers 1935.32.0067
The pattern consists of rhombs formed through the braiding technique used, executed in part in various shades and in part with varied tension.
MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUE
Camelid fibre in red and dark purple. Technique: braided partly in extended plain weave and partly at a closer sett as for repp in the dark purple yarn Yellow feathers attached to a cotton thread and wrapped round the band at one end and at another point ca 30 cm along the band. At one end, the band finishes in 7-8 cm long braided tassels, some of which are worn.
