Bird border 1935.32.0064
The motif is a bird (possibly a nightjar) in various colour combinations, all lying in the same direction. All the figures on the little inner border are turned in the opposite direction.
MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUE
Ground weave: warp and weft in dark green cotton. Embroidery: camelid fibre in red, purple, yellow, gold-yellow (blended?), light yellow, dark green, light blue and undyed white. Technique: embroidered in stem stitch on a plain weave ground. The border is edged with 3-4 cm long fringing, attached with 4 rows of cross-knit loop stitch in one shade. Possibly the border for 1935.32.0058. Embroidery in block colour style.
