The border patterning is based on the same S-shape as is dispersed over the remaining surface, but on the borders the diagonal lines of close-lying S-shapes are also organized by colour.
MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUE
Ground weave: warp and weft in yellowish cotton. Embroidery: camelid fibre in red, undyed light beige, blackish green and black. Technique: plain weave cloth, woven in one piece, with the neck opening woven as for a kelim slit. The outer edges were embroidered with rows of cross-knit loop stitch, as were the side seams. There are L-shaped borders on the outer edges and borders running straight over the shoulders and round the whole of the neck opening.
