Plaited head band 1935.32.0183
This band was braided with camelid fibre yarn in a diagonal check pattern, using diagonal interlacing and braiding combined. Groups of eight different shades, comprising 40 ends each, were interlaced as for a repp. Between these groups, yellow ends grouped in threes were incorporated to separate out the other colours and form a diagonal pattern. All the ends are plied hard, which produces a dense, compact quality.
